Resumo
This dissertation is a case study whose methodological analysis process of the speech
production of a child subject is divided into two stages. First, it describes the phonetic
phonological inventory of a deaf informant, a cochlear implant user, and across sectional
analysis which consists of a specific language corpus. Then, through a longitudinal study we
investigate how the child manages the language on a broader level: the speech. For this study,
we use a complementary theoretical construct to the first analysis: Emile Benveniste’s
enunciative theory, in which the enunciative device(I you/he) HE is presented as the
constitutive act of enunciation and the act of language acquisition. This device covers the
subject(I you), language (he) and culture(HE) and allows us to show the relationships and
mechanisms related to the enunciative process of establishing the child's language. We also
emphasize the theoretical support in Silva’s research (2007), whose work is based on the
Benveniste’s enunciative theory related to language acquisition. To understand how the child
manages the language on a broader level, which is established as the subject of language, we
analyze longitudinal data related to a child cochlear implant user, obtained from video
recording smade by the child’s mother after the surgery for the placement of his hearing aid.
These productions, which correspond to a period of four years (from July 2006, the date of his
surgery,until2010)and emphasize human communication events, generally occurred in the
domestic and in other social situations too, were available to us so that we could analyze the
utterances of longitudinal form, without which this study would be impossible for us to do.
