Resumo
The studies about professional training in Social Work are fundamental to the self-criticism and maturation of the professional category, since they allow to identify strengths and fragilities of the formative process and to envisage paths to be followed to reach the level of formation expressed in the Curricular Guidelines constructed collectively in 1996 Under the direction of the Brazilian Association of Teaching and Research in Social Work. These guidelines advocate the centrality of the discussion on social issues throughout the training process, taking into account national and regional realities. Based on this guidance, this research is to analyze how is the debate on social issues in the Amazon in vocational training conducted in the Social Work courses within the state of Amazonas. To achieve the goals, there was literature, documentary, and field, combining qualitative and quantitative data. The research was developed in the municipalities of Parintins, Coari, and Itacoatiara, involving a public institution (located in the city of Parintins) and a private nature of the institution, present in three counties. For the data collection, the semi-structured interview was used, using a form with open and closed questions, which was applied to sixteen subjects, including a course coordinator, seven teachers, and eight classroom tutors, of which eight subjects Work in face-to-face teaching (coordinator and teachers) and eight subjects in distance learning. The results show that the public institution has clearer spaces for dealing with the social question in the Amazon, including expressed in the pedagogical project, while in the private institution that has a project adopted throughout the country the discussion on the social question is given more generally.
