Resumo
The digital world is already present in all sectors of society, including the educational sector. For this area, projects and programs were created by the federal government, which aim to improve the quality of teaching in public schools, however many of these measures cannot be put into practice due to lack of resources that prevent schools from being equipped with the necessary technologies for the learning process to be more successful. Regardless of that, applications and websites were also created especially for the educational area and its curricular components, but accessing them in public schools is complicated, as the lack of technological equipment such as computers or notebooks prevents the main beneficiaries, in this case, students and teachers have full access to these pedagogical resources. The use of technologies as pedagogical resources is already a necessity as it provides new ways to teach and learn. The main objective of this research is to suggest the use of cell phones as a pedagogical resource in classrooms, especially in the teaching of geography, a science that studies geographic space, which is in constant change. Smartphones is mobile device that has numerous functions that can be accessed everywhere. With a smartphone, the student can research, watch, produce videos and movies, discover new places, follow news in real time, finally, there are countless advantages in cellphones that can promote student learning. There is no way for geography teachers to do a job efficiently only with reading and exercises from textbooks, and since the majority of public schools in Manaus are lacking in technological resources, smartphones can be an alternative to promote learning and interaction between student, teacher and school. It is a fact that technologies will not solve learning problems, but they can facilitate both the work of teachers and students.
