Resumo
The increase in the generation of new knowledge highlights the need for skilled
professionals in different areas of knowledge, including the area of health, which is affected
by growth and complexity of specialties and technologies used. In nursing we observed the
emergence of different specialties, among them the hemotherapy. In this new scenario, the
need arose to prepare students with knowledge and how are the higher education institutions
responsible for the training of professionals for the labor market, it is believed that the issues
are being addressed hemotherapy during the undergraduate Nursing, in order to prepare
future professionals for the labor market. Objective: To analyze the occurrence of
hemotherapy in teaching undergraduate courses in nursing in the State of Amazonas.
Methodology: This was a qualitative study, with triangulation of sources, like multiple case
study, which was conducted in higher education institutions, public and private Amazonas
State, which possessed Undergraduate Nursing recognized by Ministry of Education. We
conducted a desk research on Educational Projects courses Undergraduate Nursing Education
Plans and with the objective of identifying the disciplines that address the hemotherapy on its
contents after a questionnaire was administered to teachers and a verification test learning
students graduating of undergraduate nursing institutions surveyed. For the analysis, the
answers to the closed questions were treated statistically using descriptive statistics in terms
of simple frequency and percentage. The answers to the open questions were analyzed using
as basis the method of content analysis of Bardin. Results and Discussion: The union of
analytical steps related to quantitative and qualitative variables identified that there
Hemotherapy disciplines of Nursing, only some content inserted in the subjects intended for
adult care, and taught by specialist teachers without training in hemotherapy. The
questionnaire responses from students highlighted the lack of knowledge they have about this
topic. Conclusion: The teaching of hemotherapy in undergraduate courses in nursing is still
incipient, the content covered in undergraduate courses are insufficient to ensure that the
nursing field.
