Qualidade de vida de mulheres mastectomizadas submetidas a reconstrução mamária imediata em hospital de referência oncológica no Amazonas

Abstract

Introduction: The Quality of Life evaluation is important for a broader and more human approach. Objectives: To analyze the quality of life in mastectomized women submitted to immediate breast reconstruction, quantifying the domains, facets and self-evaluation of Quality of Life. Method: This is a descriptive cross-sectional observational study with a quantitative approach that evaluated the Quality of Life in women submitted to immediate breast reconstruction after mastectomy from January to June 2015 at the Foundation Center for Oncology Control of Amazonas. The evaluation tool was the WHOQOL-bref questionnaire, following the WHOQOL Group syntax. Results: Twenty-two patients were evaluated regarding the socio-demographic profile, the pre-dominant age group was 45 to 49 years old, the secondary education was the most frequent in the study (63.64%) and 90.91% of the patients were of Manaus, regarding marital status, 72.73% were married. In the questionnaire evaluation, the self-rated quality of life was defined as good in 41%, the physical domain presented the greatest impairment, while the domain of social relations was the least affected. Conclusion: The evaluation of Quality of Life must be na essential part when it comes to the choice of breat câncer treatment.
