Produção agrícola familiar em área urbana: Comunidade Nova Esperança - Bairro Jorge Teixeira - Manaus-AM

Abstract

The following study aimed to comprehend the organization of Familiar Agricola Productiondeveloped in urban area, more specifically at the Community Nova Esperança, Manaus –AM. This research being conducted on a theoretical and empirical approach in which was analyzed the reality of the geographic space of the study areaof the Community Nova Esperança’sfamiliar Agricolaproducer. Having as theoretical basis the concepts of: Territory, Territoriality, Peasant, Urban Agriculture; and Emphasizing authors, such as: Raffestin, TeodorShanin, Tavares dos Santos, Chayanov and Ariovaldo U. Oliveira, Mongeout, among others. When speaking about “family agriculture”, then it is deducted that those activities are agricola activities realized at the countryside.The expression used in this research is “Urban Agriculture”, namely, Agricola activities being developed in the urban area, although it is a discussion not so diffused at Brazil.It is appropriate to emphasize in this research, which factors that influence the practices of the familiar Agricola activities executed in urban area, as well as, understand their objectives and benefits. It is worth mention in this research that those practices resemble the Peasant Agriculture Organization. The Study Area is located at the Community Nova Esperança, District of Jorge Teixeira – 4o.Stage – Manaus – AM, in which the resident families and producers preserve typical rural characteristics concerning the land, and about the agricola activity being more active in the Community, it was possible develop an identity with the locality, by their traces of territoriality that thoses families brought with themselves from their origin places.Therefore, appeared, before this context, the interests of develop this research project, once his research will contribute to the development scientific knowledge, considering the issue here approached about “Familiar Agricola Production in urban area”.
