Resumo
This dissertation seeks to problematize documents derived from the 1962 procedural inquiry that aimed to investigate allegations of irregularities of the Indian Protection Service (SPI), the body responsible for the management and social control of indigenous lands in Brazil. The Figueiredo Report, as the set of documents gathered in that inquiry later became known, helped us to think about this academic research on institutional forms of violation of indigenous rights before and after the 1964 civil-military coup in the country, and memories of resistance. of those men and women analyzed in opposition to these sources, as well as the political and social intentions that then crossed the historical production of that procedural narrative. In light of these issues, indigenous genocide is analyzed from the perspective of programmatic social motivation, which, in the context of the civil-military dictatorship in Brazil (1964/1985), had its action fronts strengthened and diversified, by developmental ideology and other strategies of domination. of class in the period. In the context of these practices, between 1962 and 1967, the state of Amazonas also appears active at play of institutional and social forces oriented in the region by economic interests such as usurpation of customary rights, which, understood in the conjuncture of the historical relations that involved the realization of that inquiry. , help us broaden questions and understandings about the formation of the world of work in the Brazilian Amazon as a systematic attack on indigenous rights, their ways of life, culture and struggle.
