Resumo
BACKGROUND: One of the biggest challenges in public health is to reduce the extensive
queues of waiting for consultations, exams or surgical procedures where the scenario is much more tense and complex. It is observed in public hospitals, a manual process of attendance, without effective and effective management, as well as the lack of technology making the service process difficult. This implies in the difficulty of access of the users to the Unified Health System (SUS). OBJECTIVES: The main objective of this work was to identify the impact on the hospital organizational management process of elective surgery queue with the use of SIGEFI in a university teaching hospital. Having as specific objectives to describe the current panorama regarding the deficiencies in the management process of the elective surgery queue, to demonstrate the relevance of the computerization for the advancement and improvement in the queue management methodology, to report the possibilities of improvement in the productive process of the row of surgery with the use of the SIGEFI software, to present management reports made available by the SIGEFI computational tool that contribute significantly to the decisions regarding the management and execution of the ordering in the scheduling and follow-up processes to the surgical patient, to expose the importance of making information available to the patient regarding their position in the elective surgery queue through online access. METHOD: It was a prospective study whose methodology used was basic and applied research with data surveys through interviews, observations, analysis and creation of software. The research was descriptive with a qualitative approach providing solutions for specific purposes, using experimental methods of modeling and simulation for later exposure of the resulting phenomena. The research was developed in 03 stages: 1- Observation in loco; 2- software development and 3- in-depth group interview through guided conversation with professionals and students of the team of the specialty of orthopedic and trauma and HUGV employees involved in the management process of the elective surgery queue. RESULTS: Thus, the expected and obtained results were to create a product that would generate improvements in the viability of the current work, correcting the nonconformities, improving the performance indicators in the modus operandi of management of the elective surgery queue, the improvement of queuing work processes of elective surgery, access to the scheduling information of the surgical queue, to provide managerial reports and in this way to increase the financial incentives in the SUS information systems, providing indicators of the average waiting time in the elective surgery queue and reserve of surgical beds. CONCLUSIONS: The software presented will enable the development of a new methodology for assistential work and hospital organizational management, it is contributing to management decisions so that it can order and improve the scheduling and follow-up process of the elective surgery queues. It will identify the deficiencies of the current health system for possible improvements.
