Fronteira, cidades gêmeas e escolas de fronteira: educação como eixo de integração fronteiriça

Resumo

In the last three decades, the international regional integration movement has been advancing and creating more and more instruments of peace and prosperity in Latin America. The twin cities are, for integration policy, a platform to be understood and sought in international relations, being created and maintained by them all forms of relationship between the outside and the different, which seeks no longer conflict, but its complementarity and interdependence. With few exceptions, Tabatinga (Brazil) and Letícia (Colombia), are rarely mentioned for the good things they represent, most of which are portrayed by the ills brought about by drug trafficking and great popular prejudice. As frontier cities (Western Amazon), a place of rich study area, mainly in the Postgraduate Program in Society and Culture of the Amazon by the Federal University of Amazonas, they are at the heart of this dissertation work. The objective of this work is to discuss the Bilingual Intercultural School of Frontier Program as a possible integration tool in the educational field that takes into account history, the people, nationality and the union to provide subsidies to the public policies of development and integration to the neighboring countries on the continent. In the hope that this study may contribute in some way to expand knowledge about this border region, practically isolated from the national territory, with low demography and weak regional articulation, and which nonetheless attracts a mass of immigrants from neighboring countries. The Bilingual Intercultural School of Border Program can contribute to subsidize border relations by integrating these twin cities as tools for cross-border cooperation in a way that respects cultural diversity and helps to create a bilingual generation with a unique border characteristic. The research for this work was based on bibliographic information from dissertations, theses, articles and journals and statistical data from Brazil and Colombia surveyed in the field, without even trying to exhaust the subject on the proposed theme.
