Resumo
Phosphorus (P) is an essential element in the composition of key biomolecules: proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, DNA and RNA. Commercially, its main use is in the form of fertilizers for agriculture, as soils are generally poor in this nutrient. It is a finite and irreplaceable element and its constant exploitation has led to the depletion and scarcity of its natural reserves, resulting in an eventual global crisis. In this context, there is a need for its recycling, and one of the viable alternatives is the use of microorganisms, which store phosphorus in polyphosphate granules. Microorganisms play a key role in the phosphorus recycling process, as they solubilize phosphate ions from the soil, recycle organic phosphate, making it available to plants, and thus closing the phosphorus cycle. Considering the priceless Amazonian biodiversity, it is likely that there are microorganisms that have highly efficient systems for capturing and storing phosphate and, therefore, suitable for the microbiological recycling of the nutrient. In order to develop an efficient phosphorus recycling process in the future, we aim in the present work to assemble, annotate the genome and study, in silico, the phosphate uptake systems of the Serratia nevei 9rpt1 strain, isolated from the pretinho river, in Serra do Araca, capable of capturing more than 90% of the phosphate available in the culture medium.
