Objective: analyze the epidemiological profile of Chagas disease cases among Indigenous populations in the
state of Amazonas, Brazil, between 2018 and 2023. Methods: This is a descriptive study in which all reported
cases of Chagas disease among Indigenous people in Amazonas between 2018 and 2023 were analyzed.
Data were collected from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN) and analyzed using descriptive
statistics. Results: Between 2018 and 2023, the study found a low incidence rate of Chagas disease, with an
approximate average of 1 case for every 100,000 indigenous people in Amazonas. The cases were
predominantly among males, young individuals, and illiterate persons. The municipality with the highest
number of reported cases was Barcelos. Most cases occurred in April. The most common clinical
manifestations included persistent fever, followed by asthenia, facial/limb edema, and inoculation
chagoma/Romanã's sign. Regarding treatment, benznidazole was the most commonly used drug, with a treatment duration of 60 days. Conclusion: The study highlighted that Chagas disease remains a neglected
tropical disease among Indigenous populations in the region. Therefore, strengthening prevention and control
strategies is necessary to reduce this population's vulnerability to the disease.
