“Sai o kit gay entra a leitura em família”: o livro didático no governo Bolsonaro (2019-2022)

Resumo

The present dissertation entitled “‘Sai o kit gay entra a leitura em família’: o livro didático no governo Bolsonaro (2019-2022)” aimed to analyze the representations and discourses around the theme of gender and sexualities in the Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD) and in the textbooks of the Life Project discipline of Novo Ensino Médio (NEM). The epistemological statutes of the research were constituted in a post-structuralist perspective. The theoretical debate took place in dialogue with queer theory and intersectional black feminism. The methodological procedures were mediated by the autoethnographic approach to study the nuances of the hidden curriculum and the Foucauldian discourse analysis to understand the official curriculum. The research provided a consistent analysis of the cis-heteronormativity regime and the experience of abjection in educational policies and processes in the context of the Bolsonaro government (2019-2022). Neoconservatism and neoliberalism were identified as recurrent elements in the discourses present in the analyzed textbook. Discourses on gender and sexuality were strongly marked by interdiction procedures, discipline and the will to truth, producing the validation of cis-heteronormativity and the exclusion of deviant bodies from such a norm. In this sense, the results indicated the need to expand the content on gender diversity and sexuality in the textbook, as well as the creation of more representative materials about the LGBTQIA+ community. The Life Project discipline, recently added to school curricula, raises the possibility of new research that may raise data and perspectives on its insertion in Basic Education from other perspectives. Considering the turbulent period that educational policies went through between the 2016 coup and the rise of Bolsonarism, this dissertation adds to other scientific efforts to understand these processes and their effects on Education.
