Avaliação do desempenho funcional de um revestimento asfáltico do tipo CA

Abstract

Asphalt coating is a factor of great importance in the social and economic focus of cities. To compare the quality level of this layer, it is necessary to understand its functionality, conceived, as a rule, according to two particularities: Assessment of functional performance and Assessment of structural performance. The performance of functional performance provides the driver with safety and comfort. However, for this functionality to be efficient, constant maintenance of the vehicles is also necessary. Regarding the research in question, the functional performance of urban coverings, of the Asphalt Concrete (AC) type, was evaluated through analysis of the Irregularity Index, Macrotexture and Density in situ. It is noteworthy that, in much of the literature and standards, such considerations are made on federal and state highway pavements. In the work in question, we investigated avenues and streets in the urban perimeter of the capital of the State of Amazonas, conceiving an unprecedented contribution to the technological control of these asphalt coatings. The results showed that these pathways met the functionality, in accordance with the requirements of government agencies and the literature.
