Resumo
Study of a Motivational Profile of a Group of Students in High School from the Use of Information and Communication Technologies – This study aimed to investigate the contributions of ICTs to awake the motivation to learn chemistry. The motivation is a psychological factor that activates the organism, taking a person to act and remaining active. This construct is directly influenced by contextual conditions and may be intrinsic or extrinsic in nature. The first is characterized by the valorization of learning for the learner, leading him to overcome the possible obstacles that arises in the process. The second is characterized by the achievement of something in order to obtain an external goal. In this perspective, ICTs has a high potential to arouse motivations with quality, since they are part of students' daily lives and are capable of facilitating the learning. In this work, the motivation will be analyzed by the perspective of Sociocognitivist Theories - Self-Determination Theory, Cognitive Evaluation Theory, Realization Goal Theory, Self-Concept Theory -, which considers contextual conditions like fundamental for the promotion of motivation. It is a research with qualitative characteristics, being fulfilled with high school students of a public school in the city of Manaus. A total of 18 students participated in the study, through a 40-hour structured course. During this course, the process of data was made by questionnaires, debates, observations, audiovisual recordings and activity fiches, being this material organized and analyzed as the perspective of Discursive Textual Analysis. The motivational profiles obtained before the course shows us that, the searching for novelties, the learning of contents related to the daily life and the desire to prepare themselves for the vestibular, especially students in the third year of high school, were the main reason that led the students to attend the course. It was possible to verify that during the investigative process, the intrinsic motivation was predominant in a great part of the students, in such a way that the satisfaction for what they were learning, the overcoming of adversities and the involvement with the activities were a remarkable characteristics in the participants. The contextual factors had a great contribution in the prevalence of this motivational orientation, corroborating the paradigms of the Self-Determination Theory. In this sense, the ICTs used were able to arouse the curiosity and the interest of the students, since they facilitated the learning and stimulated their involvement with the activities.
