Adição de Lodo da ETA de Manaus em massa argilosa para obtenção de cerâmica para pavimentação.

Resumo

The production of solid waste from the Water Supply Systems (SAA), mainly the sludge generated at the Water Treatment Station (Leta), is one of the factors of environmental contamination and has attracted the attention of the scientific community, in the sense of reuse as alternative treatment and final disposal. The objective of this research was to evaluate the influence of the incorporation of Leta in a clay matrix for the production of interlocking ceramic blocks. The clay was collected in the municipality of Iranduba-AM, and the Leta was collected at the Ponta das Lages WTP in the municipality of Manaus-AM. The raw materials were characterized by X-ray fluorescence (FRX), X-ray diffraction (DRX), thermal analysis (TG and DSC), particle size analysis, plasticity index (IP). The specimens were made by adding 10% and 20% of Leta, sintering at temperatures of 900ºC, 1000ºC and 1100ºC, the evaluated technological properties were: linear shrinkage, water absorption, apparent porosity, apparent specific mass, resistance to compression. It was found that the technological properties were influenced by the temperature variation and the addition of Leta 1 and Leta 2. The incorporation of 10% Leta 2 (without lime treatment) in clayey mass, with an ideal burning temperature of 1000 ° C, presented the best results (RLq <2.5%, AA <12.5%; PA <22.5%; MEA <1.85 g / cm3; RC = 118 MPa) for the production of interlocking ceramic blocks, according to the specifications of the technical standards.
