A territorialidade religiosa tematizada na distribuição espacial das igrejas evangélicas pentecostais no bairro Zumbi dos Palmares, em Manaus - AM (2019-2021)

Abstract

The present research has as general objective to understand the religious territoriality of pentecostal evangelical churches from a characterization of the sociospatial organization aligned with the religious structure in its dynamics of growth strategy within pentecostal reproduction cycles. The positioning and spatiality of evangelical temples of different Pentecostal denominations and the way they articulate and interact in geographic space constitute a religious territorial system in urban space. In other words, a religious structure is visualized in a religious landscape, in this case, pentecostal evangelical, in the context of a territorial network of action that follows the rhythm of contemporary society. The specific objectives of this research are: to characterize the sociospatial organization based on the social relations linked to the religious structure in the current context of the urban space of the metropolis Manaus; understand the religious phenomenon in its symbolic dimension in the geographical space as the production and reproduction of socio-spatial practice; to relate the sociospatial processes in the Zumbi dos Palmares neighborhood with the religious territoriality of the Pentecostal evangelical Christian churches expressed in the spatial distribution of temples. Therefore, from the study of the spatiality of Pentecostal temples in greater numbers in the Zumbi dos Palmares neighborhood in Manaus, it was possible to develop the investigation of religious territoriality, characterizing the sociospatial organization. This study also made it possible to identify the performance of a territorial network of Pentecostalism within the institutional meshes of the churches in their dynamics of expansion in the urban fabric, considering the spatial cutout, that is, the Zumbi dos Palmares neighborhood in Manaus and within a time frame (2019-2021).
