Resumo
Knowing, contributing to and monitoring the development of motor coordination (MC) is essential for teachers to be able to carry out inclusive and diverse work, guaranteeing students' full right to learn and develop, since MC helps them carry out various daily activities. Our aim was to find out the CM levels of students in the final years of elementary school. Our study involved 236 schoolchildren aged between 11 and 14, of both sexes, regularly enrolled in state schools in a municipality in the Alto Solimões region. For this purpose, we used the motor coordination test for children - KTK Test - as a data collection tool, and the data was analyzed descriptively. The median, maximum and minimum values, interquartile range and absolute and relative frequencies of cases were used as statistical values. The results showed that the students performed at different levels, from poor coordination to very good coordination, with the majority (69.07%) showing normal coordination, which allows us to conclude that the percentages of students with poor and disturbed coordination are acceptable and correspond to what is indicated in the literature. However, it is imperative to provide guidance, design and implement intervention programs, in conjunction with PE classes, to assist and help students with below-average levels of CM. We also conclude that studies of this nature are necessary in the pedagogical field and the scarcity of investigations into the level of motor coordination in the Brazilian reality with students aged 11 and over, suggests the expansion of research in order to provide scientific progress in this field of study.
