A construção identitária dos cirandeiros do festival de cirandas de Manacapuru

Abstract

Manacapuru is a city in the Amazon, northern Brazil, located 84 km from the capital, on the left bank of the Solimões river. In this county, on the last weekend of August, there is the “Festival de Cirandas de Manacapuru”, in three nights, each being a presentation of sieves: “Flor Matizada”, “Guerreiros Mura” and “Tradicional”. The present study aimed to investigate the identity construction of cirandeiros this party, regarded as the biggest festival of the state of Amazonas sieves. For this, we started with the identity category of Social Psychology, understanding this concept in the context of the popular festival which is the sieve, which entailed locating it in their specificity: rivalry, artistic creation and modes of participation in party while Cirandeiro. Qualitative research was carried out semi-structured interviews with nine participants, three representatives from each sieve. The audio recording obtained were transcribed with the permission of the participants and obtained approval from the Ethics Committee (the research was approved as 191 905 Opinion of 25/01/13), and participant observation (ethnography) was conducted, and literature review document analysis. The method of analysis of the interviews was content analysis, as proposed by Bardin (1979). Allied to it, we used data obtained through participant observation and document analysis, which helped to clarify the meaning of the information. The material allowed us to elaborate the following categories: general versus sieves my sieve; the sieve and cirandeiros: life stories that intertwine in a world of multiple meanings pleasurable; the sieve in the present: a category of identity; the external view as a "booster " of the identity category itself; concepts attributed to other sieves - "with-live "and "respect", but not to be there; which renews the impossibility of changing an association to another; where the possibility of "abandonment" sieve is seen as a possibility of pain. Thus, this research contributes to understanding the construction of identities in cultural contexts, especially the Amazon, since there is an overlap between identity of being that is defined by you and which is to be defined by others and which is defined in the other , characterized as social identity and identity - metamorphosis.
