A percepção dos professores de educação física de Parintins sobre as atividades circenses

Abstract

The circus activity should be seen as an opportunity for new experiences, experiences, body self-knowledge and its possibilities and in the educational environment its main gateway is in Physical Education classes. Therefore, this research aims to understand the perception of Physical Education teachers in Parintins about circus activities in schools. The research is presented as descriptive with a qualitative approach. 14 Physical Education teachers working in public schools in Parintins participated in the research. Data collection was carried out in person at schools through a semi-structured interview. The data were analyzed using the Elaboration and Analysis of Units of Meaning technique according to Moreira, Simões and Porto (2008). This technique follows three important moments, which are: naive report, identification of attitudes and interpretation. The results reveal that teachers, despite not having prior training in circus activities during their undergraduate studies, search in alternative ways, on YouTube, articles and textbooks, for circus knowledge to teach in their schools. Furthermore, they recognize the importance of circus activities in Physical Education classes for the integral development of students, but they still lack training in circus body practices. It is expected that the results obtained will contribute to the taking of necessary and urgent political actions in this area.
