The present study focuses on making a proposal to reduce the solid waste of Ufam's works, and any current business is faced with an increasingly competitive market and a demanding consumer, besides requiring economic feasibility study and budget de-tailed, accompanied by a rigorous financial detail of the work. The success of a con-struction project is the result of the management of different resources (materials, labor, equipment and capital) that may be subject to limitations and restrictions. In-formation about resources is fundamental to project control. The success of project planning and control depends on the efficiency of the computational model that is used. The methodology is qualitative and quantitative based on the field study where project planning does not only involve the time dimension, but also the cost estimate for each one of the activities. While the planning phase includes the decision-making process, when the programs, goals, objectives to be achieved and desired and at-tributed to the institution are defined, the budget considers the inputs and costs as-signed to the institutions. processes and products. General objective is to propose a constructive alternative for waste reduction in UFAM buildings, reducing waste. Spe-cific objectives are: 01 - To search the literature for the main factors of waste in con-struction and its financial impacts; 02 - Describe the construction methods currently used in civil construction works at UFAM; 03 - Identify the main elements that con-tribute to the waste and consequently in the generation of waste in the UFAM works; 04 - Identify constructive processes that can replace the current ones, aiming at the reduction of waste; 05 - To propose changes in the construction process of UFAM buildings. As a rule, the enterprises produce solid waste, defined as disposable mate-rials resulting from human activities, being able to be in solid and semi-solid state, as well as gases contained in containers and liquids with characteristics that make their launches in public sewage network viable. Waste is the word often adopted to mean leftover in productive processes and, in particular, in Civil Construction has been consolidating as an important practice for its sustainability. Therefore, it is important to reduce the impact of this activity, reducing costs, in order to achieve better use. It should be noted that the construction sector is recognized as one of the most im-portant for economic and social development. On the other hand, it is responsible for generating large environmental impacts, resulting, for the most part, from the con-sumption of natural resources and the generation of waste, but can also arise from the alteration of the landscape. Rationalization is a tool that minimizes wastes and waste generation, by complying with procedures and methods that optimize the man-agement of material and human resources. In this sense, this work was developed in works of Federal University of Amazonas - UFAM, where the intention was to pro-pose a technique to reduce the waste generated in the work.
