Resumo
Infections of the upper airways affect the structures of the larynx above the respiratory tract, ranging from trivial to serious and fatal disease symptoms. The frequency of less than three years in nurseries has been important risk factor for this morbidity due to increased exposure to infectious agents by confinement and by agglomeration. Therefore, it is necessary for nurses to conduct health education to professional staff providing daily care to children in kindergartens, using educational technologies as mediators of the educational process. The objective was to construct and validate an educational booklet with early childhood educators in daycare on the prevention / care for upper airway infections in childhood. We conducted research validation of educational technology with methodological development, focusing on the development and validation of instruments, and emphasis on qualitative and quantitative approach. To develop this study, we chose to follow three phases: the first was the construction of the educational booklet by conducting an integrative review, from search in LILACS, SciELO and PubMed, where we selected 11 studies that guided the definition of the contents to compose the playbook and subsequently proceeded to the layout of the first version. The second phase occurred in the validation process of the content of the booklet by expert judges and preparing the second version. The third phase occurred with the validation process of appearance, step it fit the target audience. With regard to the quantitative analysis, the material was shown to be validated in terms of layout and content, as a level showed excellent agreement between judges experts (90.91%) and represented by the audience (99 , 15%). In the qualitative analysis, we adopted the thematic analysis, which allowed the compilation of the suggestions made by the experts in three thematic categories: legibility of text; adjustments in the layout; and general assessment. It is believed that this study met the objectives regarding the purpose of identifying relevant content to build a primer for educators of kindergarten children with the proposed theme and present it in a clear and simple way to understand the target audience, as educational technology was considered statistically valid, by committees participants of the validation process.
