Resumo

This thesis aims to analyze the historical perspectives from teacher's formation as Wapixana articulator strategy of ethnic reaffirmation, in a time frame from 1979 to 2014. The role Wapixana represented by indigenous teachers is the guiding element of this study, based on an analysis of power of the state and the Catholic Church in the education process for indigenous people, as well as the struggle of Wapixana in political debates of indigenous leaders by the General Meetings of Tuxauas and analysis of the relationship between the formation of Wapixana teachers and ethnic reaffirmation of these people. This work dialogues among other references, with the new perspectives of Indigenous History in conjunction with anthropology, trying to understand some resistance senses and ethnogenesis
