Resumo
This work presents the study of the evolution of the structural and magnetic
properties for M-type hexaferrite BaFe12−xTixO19 with x ≤ 1,3 at room temperature.
Furthermore, a theoretical study on the magnetic behavior of the five sublattices and the
lattice as a function of temperature for x ≤ 0,2 is also presented. Samples were obtained
by solid state reaction synthesis. The effect of the dopant ion Ti4+ on the structural
properties was evaluated using the x-ray diffraction technique and the Rietveld refinement
method. Qualitative and quantitative phase analysis revealed the majority presence of the
BaM phase and a minor hematite phase, although still significant. The lattice parameter
a showed an increase in x = 0,2, a decrease up to x = 0,7 and again an increase in x =
1,3. On the other hand, the parameter c exhibited an increase as the addition of titanium
increased. Magnetic measurements were obtained using a vibrating sample magnetometer
and the properties analyzed by the saturation approximation law. The results showed
that all studied magnetic properties decreased as the concentration of Ti4+ increased. The
curves calculated from the magnetic moments of the five sublattices using mean field
theory showed good agreement with the experimental curve values.
