Serviço social para além da sala de aula: extensão universitária como espaço de formação profissional na Universidade Federal do Amazonas

Resumo

The discussion about professional training must be continuous, insofar as its operationalization takes place in the reality of the society that is dynamic, requiring that the formative process follow this movement. In this sense, when reflecting on the current determinations that influence society, we perceive the need for a closer look at this theme. Therefore, we set out in this work to investigate the formation and, furthermore, when thinking about the context of the public university, we take into account the university tripod that governs its formative process in order to understand university extension. Thus, the objective of the study was to analyze the university extension as a space of professional training in the courses of Social Work of the Federal University of Amazonas of Manaus and Parintins. Thus, we characterize the policies and social demands contemplated in the programs and projects of extension of the Social Work courses; we investigate if the extension projects / programs allow the students a deepening on the expressions of the social question and to investigate how students and teachers conceive the university extension in the process of professional formation. For this, we work in a critical-dialectic perspective that enabled a more accurate investigation of reality in view of its historical-social aspect. Their loci were the courses of Social Work of UFAM, in the campuses of Manaus and Parintins. The research had several moments, first the bibliographic research, followed by the documentary and field, at which time we examined the final extension reports from 2012 to 2017 and interviewed teachers and students involved with projects / extension programs from 2015. Starting from the reflections and debates carried out as a result of the analysis of the data, we conclude that the university extension composes a potential space for training in Social Work, making possible its relation with the social policies and demands and the knowledge of the expressions of the social question; There are innumerable deadlocks that slow the growth of activity, but even in slow steps, extension has made a difference in the lives of teachers and students. Finally, it is necessary that there be greater dissemination of the actions developed and events that contemplate this discussion.
