Resumo
Scientific arguments show that climate change interferes in environments where physical activities are practiced. From the difficulties encountered during Physical Education classes at the Instituto Federal do Amazonas Campus Manaus Centro, the need for this study was understood. Therefore, the present study aimed to understand the phenomenon of climate change and the climate components that influence the practice of physical activity in a school environment with a hot and humid climate. Therefore, we sought to understand the causes and consequences of the phenomenon of climate change, identify the climate components that influence the practices of physical activity and sport in a school environment in the city of Manaus, and elaborate a pedagogical product with the theme of the research. For this purpose, qualitative and quantitative research of a basic nature, descriptive objectives and bibliographic and survey technical procedures were used. In the research, 53 participants were involved, 37 (69%) female and 16 (30.2%) males, of these, 10 (64.2%) teachers, 4 (7.5%) higher education technicians, 5 (9.4%) high school students and 34 (64.2%) technical high school students. With the collected data, it was observed that climate changes are caused by the increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Manaus has a hot and humid equatorial climate, but for the next six decades, an average increase in ambient temperature of more than 2ºC is projected, a decrease of 12.6% in humidity and a heat index of 27.7ºC will lead to a future climate more warm and less humid. The Physical Education discipline develops the biopsychosocial components; however it is the most harmful in the institution under study due to climate changes. The school community perceives climate change by raising the ambient temperature. For 88.7% of community members, climate change affects the practice of physical activity and 77.4% are unaware of the ideal climate parameters for the safe practice of physical activity. An electronic book was created with the theme of the research for Physical Education teachers to use as interdisciplinary didactic content. Because, with such results, it was confirmed that the variations of the components of the climate due to climate changes affect the practice of physical activity and sport, as they compromise the mechanism of thermoregulation of body temperature, triggering heat illnesses.
