Avaliação do programa “Luz para todos” no Estado do Amazonas sob o aspecto da qualidade da continuidade do serviço de energia elétrica

Abstract

Energy is essential for development. The access to electricity, however, contributes significantly to quality of live and social well-being. The reliability of the distribution system ensures the continuity of supply and the beneficial capacity of rural electrification projects. Recognizing the importance of electrification and the need for development of the Brazilian countryside, the Federal Government launched in 2004 the program “Light For All” in order to reduce social inequality and bring electricity to two million Brazilians. In this scenario, the uncertainly about the quality of service provided by the program aroused the interest in doing this research, which aimed to evaluate the “Light For All” Program in the State of Amazonas, according the aspect of quality of electricity service by analyzing the continuity of electricity supply to the residents benefited by the program. For this purpose, the research was conducted by a field survey, where the subjects of research were the benefited residents from the Rural Communities Riverain Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro, Barro Alto, Vila do Itapéua and the technical staff responsible for Program maintenance in the generatins units Novo Remanso, Manaquiri and Coari, whose collected data were analyzed by qualitative and quantitative approach. The results obtained show that the service provided by the program in the localities investigated requires improvements in quality levels of the supply of electric service considered in the study, which expressed the need for the use of appropriate technologies, implementation of isolated systems of supply and distribution, in order to warrant the efficient electric provision, sustainable and cost-effective for population located in remote regions.
