Resumo
This thesis presentes na ethnographic on the Aiué ritual that is sung, played and danced by social agentes who define themselves as quilombolas from the Remanescent Community of Quilombo Jauari, Erepecuru Quilombola Territory, in the state of Pará. Aiué is constituted through musicalities, movements and religiosities that Join the process of ethnic mobilization to guarantee rights, such as territory. In this way, Aiué establishes itself as an instrument of ethnic identity through quilombolas and non-quilombolas. The narratives, as well as the ritual practices aim to affirm na reaffirm the reinvention of knowledge that intersects quilombola social life within its dynamics. Aiué, which is closely related to the so-callled Culturas Festivals, works beyond amere romanticized practice, it is in fact a strategic instrument that reinforces social borders and consolidates old and new ethnic claims. This thesis is also concerned with reflecting new theoretical and methodological forms for the Fields of anthropology of music and dance, in order to minimally guarantee that the music and dance practiced in Aiué can be reflected in order to rethink the forms of analysis and interpretation in these fields of study, based on the quilombolas’ own perception.
