Vilas e estruturas urbanas na Amazônia: a Vila e a Microrregião de Caiambé, Médio Solimões, Amazonas

Abstract

It was assumed that research in the Amazon region is intrinsically difficult. Transport difficulties between places is done mainly by boats, motorboats and theoretically contextualizing a place in the urban context of the Amazon is a challenging task. To understand the identity of a city or a village is an even greater task. In order to do so with the the Vila of Caiambé the following objectives were drawn: 1 - To understand the territorial formation of Brazil; 2 - Characterize the urban profile of the Vila of Caiambé and how it functions as a nodule in the context of the Caiambé Microregion; 3 - Identify the main services and productive activities developed in the Vila of Caiambé; 4 - Identify the possible process of creation of the Municipality of Caiambé. The discussion of the objectives addresses qualitative and quantitative information divided into three chapters. The origins of the data are of secondary and primary research. Most of the data was collected between 2015 - 2017 in loco, where semistructured interviews were used, bibliographic survey of local, regional and national history on the formation of Brazil, application of a questionnaire developed by NEPECAB titled "City - Village Research" in Caiambé and the incessant observation of local daily life. This dissertation is organized in the following way: 1st. Chapter refers to "The territorial formation of Brazil", where subitems were history of the formation of municipalities under the legislation, territory until arriving at the formation of city; 2nd. Chapter considered the "Characterization of the profile of the Caiambé Microregion and the Vila of Caiambé as its centrality ", highlighting the location where the research was done, and, showing the services and productive activities developed in the Vila of Caiambé and enabling the creation of Caiambé Microregion, where the function will be determined according to the established urban network, thus determining the centrality of the micro-region, Souza (2009). The 3rd. Chapter with the theme "Invisibility Municipal ", is a retrospective of different visions. The discussion of economic invisibility, linked to the hydrological regime that has repercussions on the regionalized basic basket. At the end of the chapter, the creation of the Municipality of Caiambé was considered.
