Resumo
The main objective of this study was to recognize the spatial distribution of housing for undergraduate students at the Federal University of Amazonas (in the districts of Manaus), as well as the means of transportation used to access the university campus and the variation of travel duration in the mode of transport used. It is important to consider that the present study was based on the hypothesis that the residential distribution of undergraduate students from the Federal University of Amazonas (by districts of Manaus), the mode of transportation used to access the University Campus, the length and duration of were influenced by the average household income. Through the results and analyzes of this work in the previous chapters it was possible to conclude that the hypotheses were confirmed demonstrating that the students coming from neighborhoods of greater purchasing power tend to occupy the vacancies of the courses of greater competition like law and medicine, while those of poorer districts were more represented in the vacancies of courses less concurred like mathematics and pedagogy. The response was also positive for students from more competitive courses using individual transport, whereas those from less crowded courses make use of public transport. The last hypothesis regarding the trips of students that use public transport to access the University Campus are longer and have a longer duration than those who use individual transportation, demonstrates that actions are needed to mitigate these impacts.
