A percepção de acadêmicos de educação física atuantes no boi-bumbá de Parintins/AM

Abstract

It is important to recognize that the North has the largest folk festival in the country, better known as the Parintins Folklore Festival, which brings with it the bois-bumbás, which are the main attractions. The folklore manifestation is present in Physical Education (PE) classes, a mandatory curricular component of basic education. Physical Education aims to teach the folklore dance of Brazilian regions through movements. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the perception of Physical Education students about Boi-Bumbá and the academic training process. The research is characterized as field research and presents a qualitative approach, in which a semi-structured interview was applied to the Physical Education students who participated in the festival in 2024. For data collection, we will use the snowball technique, better known as “snowball”. The data were analyzed based on Bardin's (2016) content analysis, favoring a better treatment of the results and identification of the categories. From the analysis, we identified three categories: The passion for bovine culture: from generation to generation; the magnitude of the festival: the feeling of belonging; and the Contribution to training. The results indicate that Boi-bumbá contributes to the academic training of Physical Education students, addressing several important topics to be shared in the school environment, such as culture, customs, traditions, social issues and respect for other cultures. Therefore, the perception of students about Boi-bumbá for academic training is to take their acquired knowledge to the school environment and thus make new students aware of the history of the indigenous peoples, Afro-Brazilians and the North, which is the great folkloric festival of Boi-bumbá in the city of Parintins.
