Paisagem e impactos socioambientais do Lago do Aleixo: um estudo sobre a percepção dos moradores do entorno

Abstract

As important as an environmental impact assessment and its impact on society is intrinsic to seek explanations of this society, who can add information to better understand the impact. Overall, the environmental impacts arising from human intervention in nature, thus, understand the relationship of the same with the environment, can reveal important data in this process. Thus, this study investigated the environmental perception of 30 residents (men and women) who live around the Lake of Alexius and streams for at least three decades. The overall objective was to investigate changes in perceived natural landscape surrounding the lake and the reflection of Alexius in their lives over the past 30 years. The specific objectives of this study contemplated the characterization of the physical aspects of the study area, and the pursuit of their perception of residents about the changes in the natural landscape, and the consequences produced by industrialization and urbanization, the local water bodies. The methodology was initially used was the simple observation to characterize the physical area and the social use of the place. After this step, semi-structured interviews were conducted to verify the environmental perception of residents. From the content analysis it was found that the residents have identified that the main social and environmental problems have arisen from the establishment of firms and the local population increase. The results obtained allow us to infer that the changes produced in this process significantly affected the lives of people who depended on the activities on the lake. Although this study did not claim to be conclusive and complete, it brings up possibilities for understanding and brands that have affected the daily life lived by these people and their direct relationship with the environment. The study provides theoretical confirmation of the inseparability of spatiality in the social structure present in a locality and the environment and people are aspects of the same world, so that are interdependent
