O cinema amazonense no século XXI (2000-2020)

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to establish the construction of a history of contemporary Amazonian cinema that began in the 21st century. The research approach was constituted, mainly, from testimonials, festival catalogues, newsletters and journalistic news, based on the concept of the work “The tone of discontinuity: cinema and politics in Manaus in the 60s”, by Narciso Lobo. Considering the technological leap that simplified the functionality of the means of communication, providing access to digital technology for film production, it is necessary to recognize and analyze the contributions, both those of its own initiative, and those that comprise public policies, so that cinematographic culture in Amazonas to intensify and stand out at national and international levels.
