Resumo
The present dissertation aims to describe in what manner a program in a format of television documentary, which has as its main focus rescue the history of monuments, personalities, cities and facts that marked time in the Amazon region, can promote the cultural identity of the Amazon through of the radio communication vehicle Amazon Sat. The dissertation brings as a result of rigorous primary and secondary data collection of quantitative and qualitative nature, whose nature, it is descriptive case study. As procedures for this data collection were used as tools: systematic and participatory observation, bibliographical research, documentary analysis and semi-structured interview. Through bibliographical survey made in the Amazonas State and in the Amazon region, it was found that there is no scientific research on the level of master's and doctoral who have approached the Amazonian cultural identity through a television vehicle. This study proves that through the ―Documentos da Amazônia‖ program, displayed by Amazon Sat channel, it is possible to broadcast this symbolic culture through depositions and images that dating back the stories of their referrals themes, it was concluded also that the documentary importance of the program, since many of the stories told by television production does not have bibliographic references, thereby making the depositions and the program as the only reference of the subject for future researches. Therefore, the study contributes to the understanding of how it has been made to spread the Amazon culture through documentaries, aired on broadcast television channel, Amazon Sat.
