“Tambor Urbano”: deslocamento compulsório e a dinâmica social de construção da identidade quilombola

Abstract

This work of research is to analyse the relationship between government policies, particularly environmental policy and social defined remnants of quilombos in Novo Airão, Amazonas. Also aim to study the mechanisms of constructing the quilombo ethnic identity and relationship with the deployment of environmental policy that created the National Park of Jaú and administrative measures arising from it, which caused the restriction of traditional practices of use of natural resources, certain rites of social cohesion, as the religious celebrations, and even causing the displacement compulsory part of the Quilombo families to the periphery of Novo Airão. In this sense, this work, still seeking to understand the social dynamics of building the identity quilombo by those families who were displaced, said today that it designated "urban Tambor". To subsidize our work to search, we have readings of references that examined social situations designated as a quilombo "regions" Amazon, as well as studies on the concept of quilombo. In support work in the field and surveys conducted in the city of Novo Airão since 2005, but also in the Quilombo Community Tambor, Jaú River, in September 2007. In addition to other activities related to search, as audiences, seminars, assemblies, and others. From this work we have conducted the search, we find that these are not two halves of a social unit, but a social situation. To this point, the Quilombo Community Tambor and remnants of Quilombo of Novo Airão. They appoint different associations, but only express a collective identity. We, therefore, a certain momentum of plurality of identity. It converge to create a situation described as "unity of mobilization", from which they are driven identities and correlate with defined borders. That does not mean that the social agents are kept in a shirt of force. In fact these identities can be driven or not. However, they refer to ensure the rights of claim, which does not mean they run out only in the content of the claims.
