Governança de tecnologia da informação: os desafios para sua implantação em uma instituição educacional em Porto Velho - RO

Abstract

The role of Corporate Governance, from which Information Technology Governance is derived, is relevant to the success of a company, in view of involving decisions about the structure of organizations. ITIL in turn helps the governance process, being used for service management, the model aims to guarantee efficiency and effectiveness in service levels according to the needs of customers. As a general objective, we sought to evaluate the challenges for implementing Information Technology Governance in an Educational Institution. The methodology used characterized the research as qualitative, exploratory, descriptive, documentary and case study. The results demonstrate that as part of corporate governance, IT Governance arises with the purpose of providing guarantees that investments in IT projects will be aligned with the company's strategic matrix. This guarantee may be based on adequate control mechanisms and metrics that can allow management to assess the relationship between IT costs and their return to the institution, user satisfaction rates, efficiency of operations and meeting needs of business.
