Resumo

The bovine anaplasmosis is a disease characterized by severe anemia, fever, weight loss, decreased milk production, abortion and death in the animals. It is caused by A. marginale and transmitted by ticks, leading severe economic losses in cattle production and hence strategies for developing vaccines are essential to minimize its impact. In this study, a chimeric protein was produced by synthetic DNA, carrying sequences of predicted epitopes from OMP7, OMP9 and MSP1a, and used as vaccine emulsified with ISA adjuvant. After three doses, Balb/c mice were challenged with 3x105cel/mL A. marginale UFMG2 to assess proctetion of compound MSP1a/OMP7/9+ISA. There were not body weight alterations neither clinical signs were observed in immunized mice. Bacteremia count showed drastic reduction and discrete alteration on erythrocyte morphology (spherocytes) in vaccined mice 56th day after challenge. No alteration was observed in hematologic data in relation to infected control mice. The evaluation obtained in this study showed the importance of the MSP1a /OMP7/9 protein in the immune response of the Balb/c and your applicability potential in the recombinant vaccine production.
