Práticas ecológicas e o protagonismo das mulheres da comunidade Borari, Pará: o canto e o recanto das Karuana

Abstract

This study aims to verify the protagonism of indigenous women from the Borari community from the perspective of ecofeminism, pointing out their social protagonism, their cultural, artistic, political and symbolic manifestations. The research highlights their ecological practices that are based on their ancestral knowledge. This is a study centered on the gender perspective and seeks to highlight the protagonism of a female ethnic group, their struggles for recognition of their culture, work, ecological practices and cultural knowledge of women from the Borari community. This investigation intertwines with the threads of interdisciplinarity in a dialogue between Anthropology, Ethnology and the Arts. The locus of the research is the district of Alter do Chão, geographically located in the municipality of Santarém, in Pará. This location is the territory of the Borari people on the banks of the Tapajós River. It is in this space that women cultivate their relationships with nature, which is evident in their daily practices as well as in their culture. This research takes a qualitative approach in a dialogical process of weaving the discussions held. Among the multiple aspects observed is the fact that Karuana women are the guardians of ancestral knowledge, sharing lifestyles linked to land, forest and water. Their knowledge and practices reflect doing together, emerging as an order of gestures and acts, that is, they are constructive practices that refer to the ethos of Good Living. Finally, it must be recognized that the results of this research will contribute to giving visibility to indigenous Karuana women, illuminating their social and ecological practices.
