A dinâmica da rede de cuidados de famílias acompanhadas na atenção psicossocial e na atenção básica em Manaus

Abstract

This Masters’ dissertation is the result of a study undertaken in the context of the articulation of a network for families that are supported by the Psychosocial Care and Basic Health Care services, in Manaus, in the period July to December 2016. This study sought to understand what constituted the dynamics of the healthcare network for families who have close relatives with mental health problems. Therefore our general objective was the analysis of the dynamics of the healthcare network for families who require support from Centre for Psychosocial Care (CAPS) together with the Basic Health Care (ABS) from their neighbourhood. Therefore, the specific objectives were: 1) to understand the monitoring process offered to families on an everyday basis by CAPS and jointly with the ABS, and seek to understand the nature of their demands in general; 2) to understand the care used by teams for the effective assistance given to families at home and in their locality, observing the psychosocial aspects in situ. 3) to identify the therapeutic trajectories of these families in their everyday activities, aiming to understand the incidental factors, motivations, and necessities that lead them to turn to a social network of support; 4) to reflect on the therapeutic trajectories and the possible relations between the observed aspects and factors in the dynamics of care and the constitution of a family healthcare network, significant to its members, considering their specific situation. We used a qualitative research methodology of a descriptive, exploratory character, using participant observation, having the methodological resources of the following instruments: field diary; conversation log of the family meetings; construction of a genogram, ecomap and map of networks with the two participating families; documentary material, and finally, holding a meeting to return the first analyses of the data to the reference team. This is in keeping with the method of participant observation that permits the researcher’s position as observer-collaborator. Thereby, the analysis of the corpus of the research was carried out by the Analysis of Thematic Content based on the theoretical framework of a Systemic Approach with reference to Health Psychology, having as its principal constructs the concepts of Network, Care and Family. The results demonstrated that the dynamic of the healthcare network of these families can be understood by the constitution of two logics of the principal networks, in a systemic plan, specifically: knowing the dynamic of the network articulation by the logic of the Psychosocial Care and the Basic Health Care services for the benefit of the families, with their advances, breakthroughs and care practices in evidence; and recognizing a network’s dynamic from the logic of the families themselves, rescuing their stories, traveling their trajectories of care and mapping the significant social support networks, thereby favouring the constitution and activation of a meaningful network of care for families, integrated and effective for their realities. In this perspective we can move to more effective healthcare practices that includes the active participation of the subjects and their families, and integrates their rights of citizenship, and quality of life.
