Resumo

The proposal of this dissertation is to analyze the presence of Arts as a subject in the Indigenous school curriculum and in the formation courses for their teachers, both on high school (Indigenous Teaching) and university (Specific Degrees) levels. Firstly it is be described the path of the subject of Arts in the Brazilian education, its context and the that were developed by art educators in the country. In the second stage the discussion about indigenous education is deepened, contextualizing their movements, their achievements in the field of law - from the 1988 Constitution up to the articles in the current Law of Directives and Bases of National Education. In the third stage, we promote a dialogue between the subjects of Arts and the Indigenous Education School through the concept of cultural expression, which is a newer concept in the arts area. As a result of this study - predominantly documental/bibliographic we reached an understanding that there is a close link between the concepts of cultural expression and interculturality because at this time of Brazilian school - indigenous and non-indigenous - nothing is more necessary than an intercultural education, respectful and socializing including the different, not for being unequal, but for on the conflict the wealth of diversity, the promising stress of the dialogue between different cultures. We can state that the subject of arts in education (Indigenous and non-Indigenous) tends to strengthen the issue of cultures, as an affirmation of identity and enhancement of that oneself is, from cultural and artistic signs.
