Resumo

The dissertation analyzes the educational issues related to the processes that guide and condition the definition of a university course, from the middle school environment of the state public network of Amazonas. This study is organized from three broad categories: vocation, professional orientation and professional formation, arranged in a circular composition, to understand the theme in three dimensions (student's vision, family influence and the labor market), when associated with the choice of university course by the student. The described steps are related to the scenario of the actions or public policies established to the option for a university course. Understanding this process, which theoretically conditions vocational training, was challenging, since it involved contradictory questions such as the subject's desires, family demands, and market directives. In this sense, the option to speak of public policies in the field of professional orientation has developed in two dimensions. Formalized (defined by written laws), which are presented by a particular context and political interest, and materialized (manifest in educational practices) Thus, the study was based on an approach that is structured on the basis of historical materialism and is drawn with techniques that depart, circulate and support theoretical and scientific contributions of the proposed categories, documentary data related to the proposed theme and research with the focus group technique (GF), which prioritized the perspective of students and other subjects involved. The structure of the work is composed of three sections: the first deals with the theoretical and conceptual aspects, in view of a historical discussion of the categories listed that are associated with the process of choosing a profession; the second section concentrates on the discussion about the State and the public policies related to the theme; and the third section characterizes the processes and actions that exist in the state public school system, which guide students to an area or higher vocational training course, indicating the choices of areas, universities and higher education courses that are the first features of professional training of students that begins to be designed at the end of High School, as demand and necessity of the Amazonian context . Thus, the research analyzed and interpreted data directly related to the development of GF, articulated directly to the first two sections. This resulted in the construction of a framework with the actions and constraints present in the process of choosing the university course. In the structure, there was the option of not constructing an element unique to the methodological aspects, since they were approached during each stage, in an effort to say, describe and analyze what we have, want and do within the writing of the dissertation text. Finally, the work has an important contribution in making use of principles of open science, such as accessibility, gratuity and transparency of data that aim to strengthen the socialization of knowledge.
