Processo de organização etnopolítica Medzeniako (Baniwa e Koripako): (Re)configuração do fazer político no Hiniali

Abstract

This research deals with the Ethnopolitical organization of the Medzeniako people in 03 phases: before non-indigenous colonizing actions; during relations with missionaries, traders, miners (employers, mining companies), articulation with public policies (projects) for the integration of indigenous peoples (Public Power - Government); and in view of the awareness of the consequences of the relationships that triggered the definition of ethnopolitical strategies for reconfiguring articulations and mobilizations both regarding the Medzeniako people themselves and regarding dialogue with the State. Methodologically, I resorted to autoethnography, which I use to describe the current indigenous organization, created in the 1990s, through associations, and which continues to operate, configuring itself as one of the indigenous organizations of Rio Negro. My knowledge about the actions of the indigenous movement, whose first narratives known to me are mainly the result of facts reported by my father and grandfather, were deepened with documentary and bibliographical research.
