Estudo do aproveitamento de resíduo polimérico em substituição parcial do agregado miúdo em argamassa

Resumo

The civil construction sector has great potential for the reuse of industrial waste. The incorporation of these residues in concrete and mortar has proven to be an alternative in the diversification of raw materials, as well as saving natural resources, offering new products with wide applicability in the sector itself. Research has been carried out with the use of polymeric waste in partial or total replacement of aggregate in the production of cement-based products that contribute to the reduction of this waste in landfills and dumps. This research aims to study the properties of mortars with the replacement of sand by polymeric waste. For this purpose, mortars with aggregate replacement contents of 0% (reference), 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10% by mass were produced. The mix was 1:1.5 and the water/cement ratio 0.40% and kept constant for the mortars with substitution. The results show that the mortar produced with a content of 2.5%, at 28 days, showed promising mechanical properties, in the compressive strength test, even with a decrease in strength compared to the reference mortar, 28.66 MPa is obtained. And, in the bending test, it demonstrates that the addition of the residue to the mortar resulted in a strength that reached 7.85 MPa and a deformation of 0.78 mm. Thus, the incorporation of polymeric waste in the production of mortar is favorable, however it is necessary to evaluate the minimum application parameters for each purpose and future studies to improve its durability. Thus, the work presents a contribution to sustainable construction aimed at recycling industrial waste, favoring the reduction of consumption of non-renewable natural sources and collaborating with the environment.
