Resumo

The investigation that resulted in this Thesis has the objective of studying the notion of territoriality, or more religious territoriality, to understand the points of establishment and religious mobility of the members of the Associação Evangélica da Missão Israelita do Novo Pacto Universal, in the city of Benjamín Constant. Starting from a composition of diacritical features -taken from the Bible- that these individuals give to their bodies as social markers conceived through a journey through the various religious territories of the so-called “religiões do livro”. Found on the border between Peru, Brazil and Colombia, the 'Terra Prometida'. That place where they can fully live their faith, that place is the Amazon, considered the 'Paraíso na Terra', the fullness and the peak that a human being can reach from the Divine, through participation in the ‘Festas Religiosas’, which are promoted in communities and between communities, scattered along the banks of the Solimões and Javari rivers. Along this Thesis I proposed to investigate how these subjects operate, how the space of the frontier is expanded, through them of a 'Território de circulação'. Observing in this new moment how the movement of these subjects can be worked on, how this religious territoriality or the territory of circularity, as we will see later, uses the elements that configure the identity of its members and the religion itself, in the construction of new spaces. Through this process, we will see how identities and territories are constructed from religious elements, predominant characteristics in their social formation. This will help us to understand how in this new geographical context, the Amazon, or in the different contexts through which you have already passed until arriving at the frontier region, more precisely, it reveals to us the changes that have occurred since the arrival and conquest of physical spaces and imaginaries in this region bordering Brazil and Peru. Within this horizon, how was the concept of displacement and circularity developed, through the reports of its actors over the years that were in the field speaking and participating in the lives of these subjects, describing how new loops developed and redistributions both in the cultural field and in the space of the frontier towns. What is the contribution of these subjects to the consolidation of sacred spaces.
