Matriz de convergência para a sustentabilidade amazônica: das condições socioculturais ao esgotamento sanitário

Abstract

Among the several factors that contribute to the problem of sanitary exhaustion in the Amazon region, there is the lack of consideration to local peculiarities (such as its territorial extension, flora and cultural, social and demographic differences; physical characteristics, as well as urban and rural centers, and, especially, the perception of the beneficiary), whether in the planning of policies for the sector or in the stages of elaboration and implementation of technical projects. From this perspective, this study aims to systematize a conceptual matrix of criteria based on the socio-cultural dimensions to solve sanitary exhaustion in Amazonian spaces. For that purpose, we worked on the basis of an exploratory-descriptive search of literature, under the axes of meanings attributed to sewage in the context of dirt and environmental sustainability, in line with issues of technical criteria for choosing integrated solutions to sanitary exhaustion and sociocultural conditions of the Amazonian reality. To generate data, a half structured interview was applied, seeking to recognize the different perceptions of the population and native peculiarities. The convergence of theoretical and practical data collection, based on a qualiquantitative analysis of data, allowed the systematization of twenty criteria related to four different categories, namely sanitation infrastructure, sewage collection, environment awareness by man and co-responsibility of the population. As a result, a conceptual matrix was fortified to contribute to integrated solutions on sanitary exhaustion, highlighting the analysis of socio-cultural dimensions of Amazonian realities, guided by the speeches of subjects participants, a comprehensive horizon of understanding the daily experiences that express and constitute the practices and meanings around sanitary conditions is reveled, so that under technical perspective, they can bring the knowledge of the specialists closer to the desires of the benefited population.
