Resumo
The processes involving Environmental Education are extensively explained with deaf students in inclusive schools, however when it comes to the education of deaf people in special schools, only the works found in the literature remain. Therefore, it is essential to develop Environmental Education teaching strategies so that deaf students become involved with issues related to the environment, therefore, this study aimed to understand the attitudes of deaf students when faced with Socio-Environmental Dilemmas, based on Education strategies. Environmental. This research was developed with 15 deaf students from Special Education at public school Augusto Carneiro dos Santos, regularly enrolled in the 8th and 9th year of Elementary School and with 3 teachers from the subjects of Science, Geography and Portuguese Language. This study deals with field research and is characterized by a qualitative and quantitative approach. The research methods used were bibliographical research, documentary research, systematic reviews, interviews, in addition to two techniques, group conversation and a workshop. drawings, both executed in pounds, non-parametric methods and content analysis were used for data analysis. From the activities carried out with the students, it was possible to verify that the participants showed good attitudes towards Socio-Environmental Dilemmas, pointing out solutions to the problems involved. Interviews with teachers highlighted a partnership between teachers in work carried out at the school on Environmental Education, in addition to the lack of materials adapted to work with deaf students and the lack of structure at the school, as it is in a borrowed building. In the group conversation, students were divided in discussing the dilemmas, some presented comments with an anthropocentric view, while other students demonstrated an ecocentric view. In the drawing workshop, the students showed discomfort when positioning themselves in relation to the first dilemma and tranquility in relation to the second dilemma, however, they demonstrated their creativity and created beautiful drawings indicating solutions to the problems involved. Thus, it can be concluded that the activities were developed successfully, highlighting that Environmental Education is present at the Augusto Carneiro dos Santos State School, however, there is still a need for teaching-learning facilitating agents, such as teaching resources adapted for students. deaf students, who assist teachers in teaching practices involving Environmental Education at school.
