Resumo
The purpose of this work was to evaluate the hydromechanical and stability behavior of dams
used in aquaculture and aquaculture semi-excavated, simulating structures built from the
characteristics of points P1 and P3 of Proctor’s soil compaction curve. In order to do so,
Laboratory tests were carried out with samples of soils collected in aquaculture farms, for future
characterization and to obtain resistance data. The data obtained in the laboratory was inserted
in the computational analysis through the use of the Slide 6.0 software, with the purpose to
define the network flux by finite elements and stability using the method of limit balance,
generating values of pore pressure within the Safety factor of upstream and downstream of the
dikes, according to variations in the nursery water level, slope inclination, retraction speed and
variation of soil permeability coefficient. The results pointed that regardless of the dam being
built with the characteristics of points P1 or P3, all slope inclinations tested could be applied in
the field, due to the fact they indicated values of the safety within the acceptable range of slope
stability. The variations in the rate of retraction of the water level in the nurseries do not present
relevant changes in the values of the safety factor of the dams. We have identified that the
increase in permeability of the soils used in the construction of the dams causes greater
occurrences of possible slope ruptures upstream and downstream of the pond dykes, more
evident in the dyke massifs that do not dissipate part of the pore pressure during the lowering
level of nursery water.
