A fauna parasitária de Cichla monoculus (Spix & Agassiz, 1831) (Perciformes: Cichlidae) de lagos de várzea da Amazônia Central, Brasil

Resumo

Thirty-eight Cichla monoculus (Spix and Agassiz, 1831) were collected in six floodplain lakes (Purus and Solimões River) in Central Amazonia between March and December 2012. Were collected and identified 3.729 parasites, belonging to six different taxonomic groups: Phylum Platyhelminthes (Monogenoidea, Trematoda and Cestoda), Phylum Nematoda and Phylum Arthropoda (Copepoda and Branchiura). Monogenoidea species were: Gussevia sp., G. arilla, G. longihaptor, G. tucunarense, G. undulata, Sciadicleithrum sp., S. ergensi, S. umbilicum, S. uncinatum and Tucunarella cichlae gills; Cestoda: Proteocephallus sp. intestine; Trematoda: Clinostomum sp. free gills; Nematoda: Procamallanus (Spirocamallanus) inopinatus intestine and third-stage larvae (L3) of Anisakis sp and Contracaecum sp. encysted in the liver and the outer wall of the stomach; Arthropoda: Acusicola tucunarense and Ergasilus coatiarus (Copepoda) in the gills; Argulus multicolor (Branchiura), being the first record of a young specimen collected in the nostril. G. longihaptor, G. undulata and S. uncinatum showed the highest prevalence and abundance. The parasitic fauna of C. monoculus consisted of three central species, five secondary schools and eleven satellites. G. undulata showed the highest coefficient of dominance over the entire parasite community. A significant positive correlation was observed between the standard length of hosts and the abundance of S. ergensi and E. coatiarus.
