Voçorocas e a produção de sedimentos na Bacia da Colônia Antônio Aleixo em Manaus (AM)

Abstract

In urban areas, the environmental problems of the land use (without respect to the limits and risks imposed by nature) cause serious problems of environmental degradation, as well as economic and social losses. Among these, there is soil erosion, which causes loss of large amounts of material and sediment production and consequently siltation of waterways, among others. Given the above, this research has the main objective to analyze the land use, the erosive Basin Colonia Antonio Aleixo and its relation to sediment production. To achieve the overall goal, were necessary to achieve the specific objectives: Identify erosional features (gullies); Identify areas of sediment deposition; generally characterize sediments deposited in the basin; characterize the types of land use in the area of research. The methodology was based on a systemic approach, based on the following methodology: Used the resources satellite images and interpretation using GIS ; Register of gully 2006 ( VIEIRA , 2008); Basin Morphometric Analysis of Colonia Antonio Aleixo, Flow Measurement; Turbidity Measurement; Sample collection, laboratory analysis, Analysis of cabinet and particle representations; graphical analysis of particle size analysis, the results of the study showed that these incisions actually contributed sediment into the basin and most are staying near the eroded areas , mainly coarse sediments , while the fines ( silt and clay ) has been transported out of it.
