Caracterização da cadeia produtiva do artesanato em madeira no Municipio de Parintins sob a ótica da sustentabilidade

Abstract

This dissertation is the study on the characterization of handcraft production chain wood Parintins city from the perspective of sustainability, with the overall objective: to characterize the handcraft production chain of wood in the city of Parintins, from the perspective of sustainability. And the following objectives: to present public policy actions for the organization and strengthening of handcraft industry of wood in the city of Parintins; understand the interaction between tourism and wood handcrafts; Discuss the dimensions of environmental, social, economic and cultural sustainability of wood handcrafts activity in the city of Parintins - AM. The categories of analysis used for the theoretical basis of this research are: crafts, sustainability, tourism, public policies and local development. For understanding the dynamics of wood crafts production chain held in the community of Santa Maria - Vila Amazon and the city of Parintins / AM was conducted an on-site survey of 15 artisans of the Association of Costume Designers and Artisans of Parintins - ASFAPIN, appropriating a methodology with qualitative approach; whose research instruments used were the forms, unstructured interviews with photographic record. The discussion permeated the strengthening of wooden handicrafts as endogenous based economy, ensuring the preservation of local culture, conservation of natural resources, the training of artisans, as well as the generation of jobs and income for families, the welfare and improvement of quality of life of artisans and family. The wooden handcrafts, by itself, could be a potential for the development of the municipality, provided it is integrated more accurately with other sectors, such as tourism, which may be the subject of strategic initiatives focused on local development. The interaction between tourism and the wood handcrafts in Parintins, it was observed that the latter has close relationship with the most representative event of the annual tourist calendar which takes place in June, the Folk Festival, highlighting the oxen-bumbás Guaranteed and Capricious . The national and international scenarios, Parintins has a "brand" that differentiates it from other places producing handcraft, called "Land of Oxen-Bumbás" phrase is described on the basis of handcraft items. Another event is the season of transatlantic, between the months November to April, where the consumer audience is international tourists. These, in turn, in addition to buying the oxen-bumbás miniature replica of birds, reptiles and regional vessels are also marketed. According to the survey, it is concluded that the wooden handcrafts in the city of Parintins - AM is unsustainable in the environmental dimension, because the raw material is taken from non-managed areas in the future generating scarcity of certain wood species, and consequently compromising the continuity of the activity. So think of wooden handcrafts in its entirety, is to strengthen one activity aimed at local development, serving as the basis and instrument for public policy development and sustainable development strategies.
