Resumo

This research presents contributions regarding studies focused Spatial Hydrology, which is presented here as an alternative for monitoring suspended sediment concentrations in the Amazon Basin. Analyses were directed to study the confluence of the Negro (Black Water) and Solimões (White Water) rivers in the state of Amazonas, Brazil. This confluence of rivers with water color and sediment concentrations suspension different, despite being internationally and national known is little studied from the viewpoint of the hydrological functioning and hydrosedimentological. The research objective is to monitor the concentration of suspended sediment at the confluence of two rivers from remote sensing. Furthermore, to sought to analyze the dynamics of the transport and concentration of suspended sediment at the confluence of the Negro and Solimões rivers in order to contribute to a better understanding of the role of each river in the hydrological cycle of the Amazon River.
